Keep your smile friendly and complete with a dental implant

An important benefit of receiving a dental implant in Charleston is to preserve the natural bone in your mouth. An implant is placed through a small hole in the gum tissue and attaches securely to your jaw.  An abutment is then placed on the implant.  A custom made porcelain crown is fabricated in-house and installed to look, feel and chew like your natural tooth. We have been restoring missing teeth with dental implants in Charleston, SC since 2011.  Come visit our beautiful office on James Island for a stress-free experience and we will talk through your options.

What are Dental Implants?

Dental implants are a popular and effective solution for those looking to improve their oral health in Charleston, SC.  Unlike traditional dentures or bridges, dental implants are permanently integrated into your jaw, like your natural teeth, providing a stable and secure base for replacement teeth. One of the main benefits of dental implants is that they help preserve the jawbone’s integrity. Dental implants mimic the roots of natural teeth and stimulate the surrounding bone, helping to prevent bone loss and maintain the natural shape of the face and smile.  When restoring your smile back to its youthful beauty you need the best dentist in Charleston, SC.  Call Costa + Williams today and discover how stress-free, pain-free and uplifting your dental visits can be.

Dental Implant Benefits & Oral Health

Dental implants are a great way to keep a single tooth issue isolated to a single tooth. Instead of involving the teeth next to a space, as would be done with a bridge, the dental implant simply replaces the missing tooth and allows for a simple, functional, and aesthetically pleasing result.

Another benefit of dental implants is that they are durable and long-lasting. They can last for many years with proper care and maintenance, making them an effective solution for improving oral health. When dental implants are planned and executed properly, they can be a life-changing treatment, allowing for chewing, talking, and smiling with confidence.

Creating stunning restorations from scratch while you wait

Dr. Costa and Dr. Williams craft restorations onsite.  Using a finely honed eye for balance, color, shape, and texture, they create each beautiful restoration by hand.  Whether it is a veneer, implant, crown, or bridge, the final outcome appears entirely natural.  Both dentists derive great joy from the process of creating restorations and go above and beyond to deliver stunning results that you will cherish for years to come.

Recovery After Dental Implants

After dental implant surgery in Charleston, you can expect some mild discomfort around the implant site.  Soft foods and liquids are advised initially, to protect the implant site, gradually transitioning to solid foods.  After the implant is fully integrated in the bone, we will install an abutment and your new custom made tooth!

Proper oral hygiene is crucial, and your dentist will provide instructions for gentle cleaning. A temporary prosthesis may be used during healing. Follow post-operative instructions, attend follow-up visits, and maintain oral hygiene for a successful recovery and implant integration.
